Patient Letters

Hi Ferris (3rd September 2009 - email message)

I wanted to drop you a line to thank you for the treatment yesterday.  I thought that you would like to know that it has been wonderfully effective and almost all the numbness has gone from my leg.

Thank you so very much.  You work miracels!

Best regards.

The Arrival of Baby H: A Happy Story

Happy New Year!

I hope you are well and had a good Christmas, I just wanted to drop you an email to let you know how things are going. We had our 8-week scan on 19th December and everything seems to be okay (fingers crossed). The team at the Queen Elizabeth have now handed me over to the midwife in my area and I am currently waiting for my 12-week scan appointment.  I have been quite lucky with the morning sickness and only had a couple of off days. I shall keep you updated with my progress.
Thank you for all of your help and advice.

Hi Feras

We have been for our 12-week scan today.   Everything seems to be going well and we have been given the expected due date of 27th July.  The baby was moving quite a bit and is growing well.  I feel it is a huge milestone today and I am now looking forward to the next chapter.

Hi Feras

I hope you are well.   We had our 20-week scan last Tuesday and everything seems to be progressing well, I felt the baby move for the first time on Tuesday 3rd March, it was absolutely amazing and the baby has been quite active since. **** hasn't had the pleasure of feeling the baby move yet but apparently he will very soon. As you can imagine we are both so very excited and are both enjoying me being pregnant.  I will definitely put something together for you and Nick.  Would you mind if I wait a little longer as I am still very wary of the possibility of complications. I don't want to tempt fate. I hope you understand and I promise I will keep you updated with my progress.

Hi Feras

I hope you are well.  I thought that I would give you an update on how things are going. I am 36 weeks now and still enjoying every moment of being pregnant. I found out at my 34-week scan that I was going to be able to have a natural birth, up until then they thought that I may have to have a c-section as my placenta was lower than the baby. I didn't mind the thought of having a c-section, all that matters is that the baby is delivered the safest way.  However I am pleased that I am going to be given the opportunity to try naturally.  According to my midwife, Baby H is rather large, so that is great as people who suffer from Crohn's tend to carry small babies.  As I am typing this e-mail the baby has got the hiccoughs!  I am hopefully starting my maternity leave on July 10th and the baby is due on July 27th. If it is okay I shall put together my experience with acupuncture then.

Hi Feras

Thank you for your e-mail, I am due on the 27th of July. I am actually going to have the baby at Wansbeck Hospital.  It's great news that some of your ladies are pregnant!! It's like your own little baby boom. I shall definitely keep you updated and let you know regarding the induction assistance.

Hi Feras

Thank you very much for your e-mail. I thought that I should let you know that on Saturday morning my waters broke at 10.00am **** took me straight to the Wansbeck and our baby was delivered on Sunday 5th July at 6.34pm. He weighed 6lbs and 12ozs he has a full head of black hair and he is absolutely gorgeous. (I know I am a bit biased).  I also wanted to say thank you very much for all of your help and support through the treatment. Without you, our dreams would never have come true.

Hi Feras (5th June 2009 - telephone message)

Its ******* sorry I haven’t been in touch but things have been a bit mad, I am actually pregnant now, but I am not only pregnant from the last cycle, I have actually missed two cycles.  We will see how things go and hopefully I won't have to come back for a while anyway or perhaps at all, but we'll see.(names supplied on request with permission)

Hi (21st April 2009- email message)

I just wanted to write this note to let people know how much you helped us.  I came to see you last year we were having problems having another child, I had some sessions of acupunture with you and then found out I was pregnant.  I couldn't believe that it worked and so quick, I now have 7wks left before we have our little girl and we are all so happy. So thanks so much, I believe without coming to see you this might not have happened .  (names supplied on request with permission)

____________

Dear Feras (21st August 2008)

I don't know if you remember me, I am **** ***** niece and earlier on this year you spoke to me on the phone about using acupuncture to help me get pregnant.  I took your advice and am now 12 weeks pregnant!  I found a really good local acupuncturist who I have been seeing weekly and he worked on getting me to relax (!) and reducing the heat in my body so I didnt have the awful hot flushes etc that I had been getting.  I then had 1 round of IVF which was successful. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your help and for your time.  It is much appreciated. With Thanks *****. (names supplied on request with permission)

Hi Feras

My name is ******* and I was born on 13.01.08 at 3:48pm and my twin sister ******* who was still born was born at 3:49pm.  You have helped make my Mammy and Daddy very happy as they now have a beautiful son who keeps them up all night.  I weighed 5lb 2oz when I was born and now I weigh 8lb 9oz at 7 weeks and 1 day old.  My Mammy and Daddy had IVF and my Mammy had acupuncture from you to help her to have a baby.  Your acupuncture treatment was great as it helped with the IVF and it also made my Mammy more relaxed and less stressed.  My Mammy and Daddy and myself would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the treatment you gave my Mammy as we are the happiest family in the world.  You will probably see my Mammy again to help her with sleep problems.

Lots of Love from (names supplied on request with permission)

____________

Dear Feras

I would like to thank you for all your help and support over the past year.  Our beautiful baby daughter Beth was born on 14th August 2005 weighing 7lb 3oz.  I truly believe that without your treatment and also Nick’s involvement I would not be in this position now.  Please pass on my regards to Nick and no doubt I will be in touch again soon with some ailment or other.

Kind regards.(Name supplied on request with permission)

____________

Dear Mr Jerjis

I am just writing to say that Polly feels she doesn’t need any more acupuncture at the moment.  The results have been fantastic and her urticaria seems to have gone!!  We can’t thank you enough – she found the sessions beneficial  - even enjoyable!!

Thank you again. (Name supplied on request with permission)

____________

To Feras

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help and support.  Billy and I are thrilled to finally be expecting a baby.  We know it wouldn’t have happened without acupuncture.

Thank you so much. (Name supplied on request with permission)

Feras

Thought you might like a photo of me with baby Dylan.  He was born on 8th May and is a very happy little boy.  Unfortunately the home birth didn’t go quite so well.  I had a very long labour as Dylan had gone the wrong way round!  Eventually I transferred to the RVI, where later we found out he was stuck in my pelvis quite high up.  I didn’t really have many options, so I ended up having an emergency C section.  Anyway, I’m pretty much recovered from the op now and am enjoying being a new mum.  Its too early to say if we’ll be trying for any more as one is enough at the moment, but if we do I may well be back for more treatment!

Best wishes. (Name supplied on request with permission)

Feras

A big thank you for all your help over the years not only in my health care but also advice for conception, nurture through pregnancy and childbirth and most recently the care of Billy through his jabs.  It was a hard decision to leave Newcastle and one of the factors was the loss of your unique care close by … but as Arnie once said “I’ll be back!” (Name supplied on request with permission)

____________

Dear Feras

Sorry I haven’t been in touch sooner.  I tried to ring you a few times, but kept getting your answer machine and I didn’t want to leave a message.  Anyway, the good news is that I went for my first pregnancy scan last week and saw 2 little heartbeats!  We’re trying not to get too excited because we know it is still early days but we’re over the moon nevertheless.

Thank you for all your help and please thank Nick too.

Best wishes. (Name supplied on request with permission)

____________

I began to try and conceive in January 2001.  After one year of trying I went to see me GP.  Since then I've had the usual process of exploration and treatment that is available from the NHS.  A laparoscopy could not find a reason for my 'sub fertility' and I was given various treatments including the drug Clomid.  Eventually I started IVF.  My first attempt was unsuccessful.  I produced 13 eggs but none of them fertilised.  My second attempt was stopped early as I developed a cyst that interfered with the fertility drugs.  At this stage I decided to try acupuncture and approached Feras.  I began acupuncture with Feras and my partner and I also went to see Nick Hudis for chinese herbs.  I began a third course of IVF complemented by acupuncture and chinese herbs and became pregnant in April 2006.  Our fantastic daughter was born in February 2007 and I know that is thanks to the combination of treatment we received.  I do not believe that IVF would have been successful on its own.  We were one of the majority of couples whose 'sub fertility' is unexplained and yet statutory medical responses are the same for everyone.  The drug Clomid is used to ensure ovulation occurs and yet each time I had been tested, I was ovulating.  I found acupuncture useful on many levels.  It got rid of the cyst I developed so I didn't have to have it removed with  medical procedure.  It helped with the stress and anxiety I was experiencing during the IVF process.  The herbs I took altered my monthly cycle and improved the quality and mobility of my partner's sperm.  All this contributed to the success of our third IVF treatment.  I had been trying to conceive for 5 years before I got pregnant but once I began using complementary therapies alongside IVF I became pregnant very quickly.  After trying for so long I feel very lucky to have our wonderful daughter and relieved that I decided to try acupuncture and chinese herbs.  I would recommend it to anyone.
